Mentor handbook

    Your intro video

A short, warm intro video is the single most useful thing on your profile after your photo. Here's how to record one that feels like you.

    Why it matters

Members watch your video to decide whether you're their person. It replaces dozens of get-to-know-you conversations, so it's worth an hour of your Saturday.

Keep it to 60 to 90 seconds

Shorter than feels natural. It's a hello, not a keynote.

    Phone camera is fine

Face a window for light, find a quiet room, put the phone at eye level and look into the lens.

    A simple shape

    1. What you've actually done, in a sentence or two
    2. Who you help best
    3. What a session with you is like
    4. A warm one-line invitation

    Don't read a script

Dot points, yes. Reading, no. They need to meet the real you, slightly imperfect and all.

    Uploading it

Upload it to YouTube as an unlisted video, or Vimeo, and paste the link into your profile. You can swap it any time.
