Sometimes the hardest part of making a change isn’t knowing what to do. It’s clearing the noise enough to see what’s actually possible. I’m a mentor, leadership coach and marketing professional with more than 20 years’ experience working with organisations, leaders and individuals across marketing, customer strategy, communications, leadership and career transition. I’ve worked with organisations including American Express, QBE, Vodafone, NSW SES and NSW Government, held senior marketing leadership roles, and built my own consulting practice. The stories we tell ourselves One of the things I find myself helping people with most often is the stories they tell themselves. In careers, it might be “I don’t have the right experience,” “I’m too old,” “I should know what I want by now,” or “I couldn’t possibly do that.” In business, the stories can sound surprisingly similar: “We need to be everywhere,” “our customers want this,” or “everyone else is doing it.” These stories can feel like facts, but they aren’t always true. My role isn’t to give you all the answers. It’s to ask good questions, challenge assumptions, bring a different perspective and help you separate the noise from what’s actually true and important. What you can expect from me Curiosity, honesty, empathy and practical challenge. I care deeply about people, but I won’t simply tell you what you want to hear. I’ll help you think more clearly, see possibilities you may have overlooked and turn insight into action. I’ve had some wonderful mentors myself. One gave me a phrase that has stayed with me for years: “You are either green and growing, or ripe and rotting. What will you choose?” It shaped how I approach life and work, with curiosity, humility and a commitment to keep learning. My grandmother taught me something equally important: compassion, community, hard work and the courage to be frank while still caring deeply about people.
